Here’s a neat little feature we kicked out a couple weeks ago that I totally love, an active friends list. This is a quick list of the people that follow you on Twitter that are on RiotVine, and we recalculate it every night. This is how we show you the events that your friends are attending, so you can hang out with them more.
If you have a RiotVine account, you can see this by clicking here. If you don’t have a RiotVine account, what’re you waiting for?
One of the most requested features we’ve had since launch is the ability to export events to your native calendar app. We’re happy to announce that you’re now able to do just that. Now, when you click Add to My Calendar:
you’ll be able to export the event data directly to the most popular calendars available:
We also take this opportunity to remind you to share this event with your friends online.
If you don’t want to add an event to your RiotVine calendar, you can also export this event to your local calendar from the bar on the right.
The other great addition is the ability to filter events so that RiotVine will just show you what’s happening this weekend or next week, making it easier to drill down to just what you’re looking for. As a teaser, we’ve got major new additions to the filtering options in the works that will help you discover just the events you’re looking for. Finally, tell us what you think of the new features!
The fine gents at the Thrillist spotted us on DartBoston’s Pokin’ Holes show and wrote a great piece on us. Their city coverage is consistently amazing; if you’re not on their mailing list, you’re missing out on some real hidden gems.
Thanks for dropping by our blog! It’s been long overdue but the last few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity. For starters, we were highlighted on DartBoston’s awesome entrepreneurial show, Pokin’ Holes. You can catch the recording here:
It’s a a really candid (maybe too candid!) show that highlights RiotVine as an early stage startup prepping for a VC pitch in just a few days, and goes over where our focus should be. It’s a really informative look for anyone with VC dollar bills in their eyes.
And speaking of the pitch, you’ll be able to watch it, LIVE. It’s another DartBoston show called Capitalize. premiering Tuesday, 11/10/09. It’s an almost ridiculous idea that I couldn’t turn down. Huge, HUGE kudos to the DartBoston crew, especially Cort and Jake, for pulling this off.
In other site news, we’re currently prepping a few minor updates, one of which will put ticket links on a lot of our event pages so expect that very shortly. If you want more site news, be sure to follow @RiotVine, and if you want a healthy event feed for the Boston area, be sure to check out @RiotVineBoston
